This shoe will put a spring in your step with its bouncy cushioning system, trampoline-inspired outsole and plush, comfortable upper that wraps around your feet. One runner even mentioned this shoe made him smile all run long in our ASICS Novablast 4 review, saying ”it’s got a density to it, but it also feels very energetic and springy.”
Details
- Upper: A breathable woven upper delivers a plush, comfortable fit with plenty of stretch, ventilation and durability. The padded mesh tongue has a wing construction to help make the shoe fit better and reduce any tongue slippage. At least 75% of the shoe’s upper materials are made with recycled materials.
- Midsole: FF Blast™ Plus Eco cushioning provides plenty of bounce and comfort. It is made with approximately 20% bio-based content for more sustainability.
- Outsole: The AHAR® outsole is nice and durable. The outsole design was inspired by a trampoline to provide a more responsive bounce as you run.

Prefer previous version
Novablast 3's are my absolute favorite running shoe of all time! I own 3 pairs. I was excited to try the 4's but unfortunately I ended up having to return them. The sizing of the 4's felt off to me as the shoe felt too long even in my normal and solid running shoe size. They also lacked the same fun snappy responsiveness that the 3's had. I'm hoping ASICS takes note that not all the changes in this newer version are positive and they make the 5's more like the 2 and 3's.

Comfortable
Here are my new running shoes. Super comfortable it’s like running on clouds! Can’t speak to the durability just yet (only owned them for a month now) but if they are like my older pair (which are 2 years old) they will hold up great. I do OrangeTheoey Fitness. Thaws shows provide all the support I’m looking for and more. Very highly recommend them.
