Like picking out the best pair of running shoes, there isn’t one pair of running socks that will be best for everyone. Instead, you should choose your socks based on your foot shape, running habits and preferences.
If you are trail running, a pair of crew cut socks will help keep dirt and debris out of your shoe, but a shorter pair might be enough for road running. Some runners need a higher heel tab to prevent blisters on their Achilles tendon, and other runners want compression socks for during and after workouts.
Whatever running socks you choose, look for soft fabrics that wick sweat and dry quickly. You’ll also want socks that fit snugly to avoid bunching, which can cause blisters.
