• Retail Sales Associate (Outfitter)

As an Outfitter at Fleet Feet Westport, you will be the face of our brand, delivering exceptional customer service to all who enter our store. Outfitters provide personalized fitting expertise and product knowledge to ensure each customer has an inspiring and comfortable shopping experience. This role requires a passion for fitness and running, top-level customer service, and an interest in helping customers find their perfect fit.

*We have positions open for part-time weekends, and part or full time weekdays.*

Key Responsibilities

- Customer Engagement: Greet customers and build strong, lasting relationships by learning about their needs and goals. Offer warm, friendly assistance to each person who enters the store.

- Fitting Process: Perform in-depth gait analysis using our Fitid® process, and use knowledge of biomechanics to recommend footwear, insoles, apparel, and accessories that align with the customer’s needs.

- Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of all store products, current trends, and technical specifications. Share relevant information to assist customers in making well-informed purchases.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and store management to ensure a positive, cohesive environment. Assist with merchandising and store upkeep.

- Goals: Strive to meet individual and team goals. Utilize point-of-sale software accurately and handle transactions professionally.

- Event Participation: Actively support and participate in occasional Fleet Feet events, community outreach, and local running groups to further promote the brand and foster community engagement.

Qualifications

- For positions that include the weekend, you must be available to work between the hours of 10am - 6pm on Saturdays, and 11am - 5pm on Sundays. For positions that include weekdays, you must be available to work between the hours of 10am and 6pm.

- Passion for running, either through being a runner or a passion for helping people get the correct footwear

- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality

- Ability to learn and apply fitting techniques for various products (e.g., shoes, insoles, apparel)

- Basic knowledge of biomechanics or a willingness to learn and train on fitting systems and gait analysis

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Retail or customer service experience is preferred
