Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa expands in KingsPointe Village

Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa, a locally-owned and operated specialty running and walking retailer, recently began an expansion project at their KingsPointe Village location at 61st and Yale Ave.  The retailer also operates a second store in the Blue Dome District of downtown Tulsa.
With the additional space, Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa will rank in the top five Fleet Feet Sports locations nationwide in total floor space, as well as in the top five of Fleet Feet Sports nationwide for single-store size. The new KingsPointe Village store will be the largest specialty running and walking store in the state of Oklahoma.
The new store, located in phase II of KingsPointe Village near Subway, includes a total of 6,000 square feet of retail, stock room and back office space. Combined with the Blue Dome store, Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa will operate more than 10,000 square feet of retail space in the Tulsa metro area.
“Since opening our first Fleet Feet in KingsPointe Village in 2003, we have simply loved the central location,” said Tim Dreiling, co-owner of Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa. “Not only are we conveniently located next to LaFortune Park, but this has been a very successful location for us over the past nine years. Expanding at KingsPointe was a natural choice for us.”
Dreiling said that while owning and operating the magazine Oklahoma Runner, he and his wife Lori noticed the involvement and engagement of national running stores in the running communities they served and wanted to see the same thing in Tulsa. They chose to open a Fleet Feet franchise because of Fleet Feet’s owner-operator model, and because of how highly engaged Fleet Feet stores are in the communities they serve. The Fleet Feet Tulsa store was the forty-ninth Fleet Feet franchise to open and has been named a top 50 running store in America every year the award has been given.
“We aren’t just a running store. We proudly offer beginning to advanced training programs for runners and walkers as well as a full suite of races for the community,” said Lori. “Additionally, we offer free clinics and seminars in our stores. This expansion at KingsPointe will allow for more shoes and apparel, but also more space for our Fleet Feet family of runners and walkers to gather for seminars and training walks and runs.”
