We’re here for the soft wins – the miles, the mindset and the moments that get us there. With Fleet Feet’s Distance Training Program, you’ll follow a holistic training plan designed to help you build the habits, mindset and fitness you need to cross the finish line feeling strong and empowered.

Training for a half marathon isn't just about logging miles. It’s about facing challenges, tackling different types of runs, building strength and making space for rest and recovery. With our program, you’ll connect with other runners, grow together and benefit from expert Fleet Feet running coaches every step of the way.

PROGRAM DETAILS

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• A 12 week training plan tailored to your goal
• In-person support for accountability, camaraderie and fun
• Warmup and cool down exercises to make every run smoother
• 2X weekly strength routines to build strength and prevent injury
• Mobility and cross-training exercises to balance your training
• Tips from pro athletes on gear, nutrition, recovery, mobility and more

• Starts: First group run is Wednesday, March 11 at 6:00 pm
• Program Length: 12 weeks

• Objective Distance: 10K/Half Marathon
  • We're preparing for the Big River 10k/Half on May 30. We welcome runners in our Tri-Cities community training for other races and are happy to adjust your plan to meet your goals.
• Price: $120 + fees (excluding race registration)

• Wednesday Evenings at 6:00 pm: Group Workouts
• Saturday Mornings at 8:30 am: Group Long Runs

 "I have spent the last 20 years as a competitive distance runner, from my first track and field season in seventh grade to currently training with and competing for my home club, Tacoma City Running Club, and coach Matt Ellis. I thrived at the longer distances, earning several state championship berths in high school, and eventually competed at Eastern Washington University, specializing in the steeplechase. Since graduating college in 2015, I have continued to train and race everything from a 5k on the track to a full marathon. I am presently working on my goal of enjoying the training process, staying injury-free, and qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon distance. I have been involved as a coach at the Junior Olympic level and have coached two half/full marathon training groups and one summer speed series, making this my fourth time coaching with Fleet Feet. My favorite part about coaching at Fleet Feet is helping encourage and push others to fight for their goals and prove to themselves how tough they are."
