Favorite quote?
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” One of my closest friends at Fleet Feet helped me get through a difficult time and showed me how the things that challenge us have the ability to make us stronger and transform who we are in a positive way. This quote reminds me of her and motivates me when I am going through a difficult patch.
How long have you been running with Fleet Feet?
I have been running with Fleet Feet since July 2017, right before I started working there!
Favorite running shoe at the moment or all time? Or if you could be any shoe, what would it be and why?
My favorite running shoe is the Brooks Adrenaline! It has taken me hundreds of miles to figure out what shoe works the best for me.
Favorite local route or areas to run?
I try to change up my running route often so I can discover new places and enjoy the beautiful scenery around me. A couple of my favorite spots to go are Highland Forest and Green Lakes since I can be in nature and go through the trails.
Favorite race?
My favorite race is It’s A Wonderful Run in Seneca Falls! Christmas season is my favorite time of year and that race brings me a lot of joy.
Can you remember how you got started running?
I joined the cross country team my sophomore year of high school and have fallen more in love with running each year that passes. I originally joined the team to stay in shape and ended up meeting some of the most incredible girls who pushed me each practice and helped me become the runner I am today.
Tips for a beginner runner or someone just starting?
Don’t give up! When you first start out it may seem challenging and oftentimes you can start doubting yourself. It is important to keep going! The more you get out there the more your confidence will start to build up!
Why do you continue to run?
I continue to run because it has helped me get through some of my most challenging moments in life and it helped me discover the person I strive to become daily. I have been blessed to be able to meet so many wonderful people through running and some of my most cherished friendships were formed while out running and walking!
Favorite song/audiobook/podcast or running playlist?
I am usually talking to my friends while I run, but if I do listen to music it is normally pop.
Go-to run outfit or favorite piece of gear/apparel?
My go to run outfit is either Brooks or Oiselle (or a combination of the two!). I love how their apparel fits me and it makes the run even more enjoyable!
Trail or road?
Trail running all the way! I enjoy being in nature and finding new trails to take.
What are you doing when you’re not running or at Fleet Feet?
You can find me out hiking all over New York with my boyfriend and some of my closest friends! I love finding and exploring new trails.
Do you have any superstitions or particular running routines?
I never eat something new on race day. A few years ago I decided to eat something different than I normally do an hour before the race and I was uncomfortable the entire time.
