As you know, the health and safety of our group is and always will be our number one priority. We are monitoring the local impact of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and any subsequent local and state guidelines from officials.
Given the rapidly changing nature of the Coronavirus updates, we will continue to evaluate the situation keeping you informed on further decisions as it pertains to the remainder of the Mountain Goat Training Program.
In the meantime, we will have several modifications to ensure the overall health of the group:
Location Change - We will meet Sunday at 8:30 AM at Green Lakes State Park
No communal key box - please plan to store your keys elsewhere.
Water Stop Change - We will maintain one water stop at our meeting spot. It will not be self-serve. We will provide an employee or coach with sanitary gloves to dispense water. We can’t maintain water stops on the training route but will adjust routes to be shorter and pass by the maintained water stop several times.
If you have a personal hydration system, please use it. If you do not have one, Fleet Feet in DeWitt and Clay will offer them to all training program participants for 25% off during the remainder of the Mountain Goat Training Program.
No communal food. We are suspending all communal snacks, treats, etc. This means there will not be any nutrition offered on the route or post run. Bring your own energy products for your individual use but no food to be shared.
Please adhere to recommended CDC guidelines, no hand shaking, high fives, etc.
Keep in mind, our workouts are not mandatory. If you do not feel comfortable attending or do not feel 100% healthy, please stay home. We will continue to monitor the situation and appreciate your cooperation. We will share any changes or updates through our newsletter and social media platforms.
Finally, running is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and as much as we can, we want to continue operating training programs and safely serve as a hub of health and wellness for our Syracuse community. However, we will only do so when it is safe for everyone involved.
