Being around running and runners for most of the past 20 years has been both a joy and a privilege. This weekend was a pinnacle time for me as I was in New York for the New York City Marathon and surrounded by runners from around the world.
As far as the eye could see, runners of all shapes and sizes morphed into the landscape of New York City. On the street, in Central Park, in the hotels and just about every coffee shop, restaurant or diner in Manhattan, runners ruled. The look of joy and anticipation was displayed over and over again, as the clock ticked down to the big event.
We have our own big event coming up this weekend, the Syracuse Half Marathon, which has quickly become the largest road race in the Syracuse area. with more than a $1 million impact on the local economy.
For three days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, runners will descend on our DeWitt location to attend the Fall Festival race expo, which will not only allow participants to register and pick up their race packet and premium item but browse through the smorgasbord of great items that the Fleet Feet purchasing team has been buying for the past six months, just for this event. You can read all about it in our weekly newsletter. It doesn’t matter if you are running the race or not, get into Feet Feet Sports this weekend and find the best deals of the year.
Speaking of events at Fleet Feet Sports, mark down Tuesday, Nov. 14 on your calendar. That evening, Fleet Feet Sports along with Sports PT will present a one-hour clinic called “Do Your Feet Hurt.” This clinic is for runners, walkers and anyone who is experiencing foot pain and would like professional advice on treatment and prevention options. A doctor from Sports PT will lead the session and be available for you to speak with one-on-one after a short presentation. Participants will also have time to receive a free 3D scan of their feet from our “fit id” scanning equipment.
Space is limited so be sure to reserve your spot today. And don't forget to pass along the information to anyone you know who might also have foot pain!
