I just wanted to let you know how pleased I was with my experience at your store last Saturday. I have been having trouble with plantar faciitis in my right foot for some time now and my husband has been pestering me to see a doctor or podiatrist for it. As a therapist myself, I have self-diagnosed and largely ignored the problem, but I knew that many in my practice had sent patients with similar problems to Fleet Feet, with good results. So I stopped in last Saturday morning to see what could be done.
I was greeted by Tana, who proceeded to spend at least an hour with me, analyzing my gait pattern and offering advice about orthotics and shoe choice. Tana was both professional and personable; she listened carefully to my situation and observed thoughtfully how my gait and my pain pattern were influencing each other. Without being pushy, she selected several shoe choices for me to try and helped me evaluate what I liked or didn't like about each one. She taught me a new lacing technique that -- in and of itself -- changed the comfort of ALL the shoes I wear and she celebrated with me when we found a shoe and orthotic that were the right combination of form and function. Tana took such good care of me, I felt like she treated me like her own family member. At no time did I feel rushed and her agenda always seemed to be what was best for ME, not just making a sale.
It is rare these days to find such a wonderful combination of knowledge and compassion and employees like Tana should serve as an example to others of the true meaning of customer service. I could have spent hundreds of dollars on an office visit with an MD and had only the fraction -- if that -- of the care and consideration I received from Tana. My foot is already better, in less than a week, and I will surely refer others with these issues to Tana at your store, in the future.
