DEWITT, N.Y. -- An Olympic medalist and Asics Athlete came to Fleet Feet Friday to recognize the store for its support of the running community.
Deena Kastor has been a professional runner for two decades. She ran in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, taking home a bronze medal. The marathoner also holds several American records.
Kastor works for Asics, traveling all over the country to race, promote the brand and share her love of running with others.
"Running is such a fantastic sport that no matter what reasons you get involved in it, to lose five pounds, to fit into your wedding dress, to combat bad news you got from the doctor in an effort to be healthier. I think people stay with this sport because there are so many benefits," said Deena Kastor, Asics marathoner.
Next, Kastor hopes to break the world record in September when she runs in the Philadelphia Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon.
