Starting Location: Fort Belle Fontaine, 13002 Bellefontaine Rd, St. Louis, MO 63138
Parking: Every vehicle will need to stop at the main entrance and check in with the guard on duty before entering the park (there is no cost, simply sign in and they will give you a card - know your license plate number as they will record that). The trail head parking lot is on your left just down from the guard post. There will be limited parking there - ideally we can double up cars if those running long pull in first and then those going shorter or who need to leave park behind them. This could create at least 2 rows if not 3. Other parking can be found further down the paved road scattered around the park all with in a 1/4 of a mile from where we will start, then just meet us at the trail head lot. Do not just park randomly on the road as it needs to remain clear for traffic. Please allow time to check in with the guard

Short course consists of 2 loops while the Long course will cover 4 loops. Think figure 8's.
Loop 1 - Everyone will run the short course 2 loops first, following the PINK route outlined below in a COUNTER-CLOCKWISE manner. From the main trail head, we will head North along the paved road a short while till we pick up the trail at the end of a parking lot, then head down the hill and make a LEFT turn on the trail when you can. Follow this around till it comes up a hill and out of the woods where you will make a sharp RIGHT turn and then just follow the gravel path all the way back to the starting point. That completes loop 1.
Loop 2 - (PURPLE route outlined below, run it CLOCKWISE) From the trail head, head back out the exact way you did on loop 1, taking the road back to the trail and down the hill. Stay to your RIGHT this time at the bottom and follow this all the way around back up to the road. This will take you by the Grand Staircase which could be a great photo op if interested as well as some other older stone structures remaining. Back up on the road stay STRAIGHT and to the LEFT slightly to take it back out towards the starting point and finish up. This completes loop 2 as well as the Short course.
Loop 3 - LONG ONLY (GREEN route outlined below, run it CLOCKWISE) This loop is the exact reverse of loop 1, so start out on the trails first, turn RIGHT to come up the hill towards the road and then follow the road back to the start to complete this loop.
Loop 4 - LONG ONLY (ORANGE route outlined below, run it COUNTER-CLOCKWISE) This loop is the exact reverse of loop 2, so start out on the road and turn RIGHT near the beginning to head back up to the trail and then down the hill towards the Grand Staircase, turn LEFT on the hill to head back up to the road and then back to the start to finish up the loop and the Long course.
