Project HOOD Reaches (and Passes Through) St. Louis

Pastor Corey Brooks and his team of walkers from the organization Helping Others Obtain Destiny (HOOD) gave us a pleasant surprise visit at our St. Charles FLEET FEET store on Tuesday, July 31st.  They stopped in our store for new shoes and apparel to wear during their ongoing walk across the country.  They started walking June 5th in New York City and hope to finish in Los Angeles in late September.  Throughout this journey they have visited multiple FLEET FEET stores and received special support from FLEET FEET Chicago store, their home town.  When he left our store, we were confident Pastor Brooks was ready to go in his new Brooks Beasts - and his Facebook page reports he has made it well into Oklahoma!

HOOD was founded with the objective to raise money to stop violence and simulate peace within Chicago South Side communities.  The objective of this walk is to bring attention to the violence that is not only in Chicago but in urban communities all across America.  In addition to raising awareness, HOOD will raise money to build a Community and Economic Development Center on the south side of Chicago.  If you have interest in making a donation or joining the group that is walking, please review the website at  This is quite an energizing group of individuals with an important mission ahead of them!
