Run Description: 3 hour run
Easy footing run again, out and back run along the Katy. Brief section is paved from the starting point down to the Katy Trail, otherwise all trail after that. You could mix in a little bit of pace work on this to break up the time. One suggestion would be doing a 10-20-10 run x4, which would put you at 160 minutes worth out of the 180. For the additional 20min simply add 10min at the start and at the very end, so it'll basically look like you are running 9 x 20min segments. The first 20min is to be run relaxed at a normal run effort and then the next 20min segment should be a hard tempo effort, then another 20min relaxed normal run effort, then 20min hard tempo and so on - going easy then hard, easy then hard, easy then hard, easy then hard, and finish easy.
