Time to Tune Up
Maybe you took 2020 off. Maybe you've trained for the 10k, half marathon or full marathon distance before, but you're never really confident about getting out on the track. Maybe you wish you knew how to use your heart rate monitor.
Our Tune Up Series gets into the nitty gritty of distance training so that you can up your game in time for the fall season.
This five week series focuses on a specific aspect of distance training every week. Each Monday, we'll host a digital Q&A with a certified coach or athlete with expertise in a range of distance training subject matter. Your weekly workouts are designed to "talk back" to Monday's discussion, so that you walk away from the series as a smarter and more strategic runner.
Week 1: heart rate-based training to prevent injury and help you run smarter. We'll learn how this works, and use it throughout the series.
Week 2: speed workouts to keep in your back pocket, and how to maximize their benefits.
Week 3: the importance of hill work from someone who runs a lot of them.
Week 4: unpacking tempo runs and working on form.
Week 5: developing and practicing a racing mindset, goal-setting for fall training.
