The half marathon, aka 21.1K or 13.1 miles, a hugely popular distance, with many thousands of events taking place globally every year, has become the go-to race for over 2 million runners in the US. Likewise, the 15K (9.3 miles) and 10-mile races continue to increase in popularity. The races are fun at these distances and require respect and disciplined effort, but the time on feet is much less than the greater distances of the marathon or ultra-marathon. Training for and completing a 15K, 10-mile, or Half Marathon is both challenging and rewarding.
Our Half Marathon/10M/15K Training Programs are 9-13 week programs (depending on season and goal race) designed to prepare runners and run/walkers for either a first-ever endurance event or a PR. This program will educate on endurance training principles, run training discipline, mental skills training, hydration and nutrition, body awareness, pacing, and running autonomy.
It doesn’t matter how fast you run or how far you go—what’s important is that you move. Whether you’re a first-timer of the Half/15K/10M, searching for more speed, or coming off a marathon and want to keep your running gains, our training program will help you progress toward personal goals, wellness, and running success. Starting mileage for these programs is 5 miles. You can train using thecontinuous run or run/walk methods. A successful runner in these programs should be able to comfortably complete a 10K or farther and be running 2-3 days per week before beginning these training programs.
