This year, Fleet Feet Sports is challenging Savannah to lose a ton of weight. Literally! The challenge will be to collectively lose 2,000 lbs in body weight in 10 weeks.

Slim Down Savannah is a 10 week challenge to get the residents of the Greater Savannah area to lose weight. Participants will work on their own to lose weight, but we'll provide fun ideas of how/where to get out and moving around the Savannah area throughout the 10 week period. We will also offer resources for nutrition and injury prevention.
Anyone, and everyone, is both invited and encouraged to take part. The more people we have, the more weight that will be lost and the healthier our city will become. All participants will be invited to join a closed group on Facebook, where ideas, progress, plans on a group outing, etc can be exchanged. We will send out an eNewsletter once a week full of activities throughout the Savannah area, nutrition and injury prevention.

Q: What is the cost of registration?
A: The cost of registration is $50.00 and it includes a group run/walk or fun event each other week plus weekly weigh-ins. Plus win back your registration fee in Fleet Feet Savannah gift cards.
Q: How do I register?
A: You can download registration form here and bring it to Fleet Feet Sports Savannah. Or you can register online at signmeup.com here.
Q: Is this program right for me?
A: This program is open to anyone and everyone. We encourage everyone who is interested to join this program.
Q: How do the weekly weigh-ins work? I don't want everyone to know what my weight is.
A: Each participant must visit the store to weigh-in each week. Participants will weigh-in privately (we will have scales set up in our dressing rooms). Participants will only remove shoes for the weigh-in (please wear lightweight, breathable clothes). Weight will be tracked privately. We will never say how many pounds a person weighs, however, we will track percentages.
Q: When can I come weigh-in?
A: You can stop by Fleet Feet during the following times for your weekly weigh-in. Weigh in times are on Wednesdays (11:00am-1:00pm or 5:00pm-6:00pm).
Q: When does the program start?
A: Kickoff for Slim Down Savannah is Wednesday, January 13th, 2016. Stop by between 11:30am and 6:00pm and weigh-in for your first time. Registration will be available on site that day. Healthy snacks will be provided. Guest speaker at 5:30pm (speaker TBD).
Q: When is the weekly workout?
A: The bi-weekly workout will be on Wednesday evenings at Daffin Park at 5:45pm. Workouts will vary from week to week and last around 30-60 minutes. Workout dates are January 20th, February 3rd, February 17th, March 2nd and March 16th.
Q: How do I stay motivated if I only have one workout every other week and one weigh-in a week?
A: Because we are a specialty running store, and because we want to recognize the success of participants, we have created different levels of "race clubs" along the way that participants can achieve.
Q: I heard that I can win my registration fee back in Fleet Feet gift cards. Is that true?
Q: When is the final weigh-in and victory celebration?
A: All final weigh-ins is Wednesday, March 23rd from 12:00pm-5:30pm in the store or at the Victory Celebration party, to be eligible for the final awards. The Victory Celebration will start at 6:15pm.
Q: Will there be a prize for the highest percentage of weight loss?
A: Yes, the top male and female who loses the highest percentage of weight loss over the 10 week period will each receive a free pair of shoes and a piece of apparel from Nike (or the sponsoring brand). Everyone who successfully lost 5% of their initial body weight at the final weigh-in will receive at $25 Fleet Feet Savannah gift card.
