Mendocino Running Festival Half Marathon/10K
Program Fee: $100
Description: Join us starting July 11th for an eight-week trail training package to help prepare you for the half marathon or 10K, as part of the Mendocino Running Festival. The training group will end on race day, August 28th (race entry not included).
Starting mileage is five miles and training runs will take place at Annadel State Park in Santa Rosa.
You will be given a periodization training plan to help you prepare fully for these events. This training plan will be focused on injury prevention, self-care during the week, what to expect for your weekend runs, and weekly mileage goals based on your current level of fitness.
Coach Rachel Baker will spend the first training sessions teaching you dynamic stretching for run preparation to reduce the chances of injury, briefly discussing the benefits of run nutrition, and assessing your current level of fitness with a trail run. For the following seven meetings, Coach Rachel will set up Sunday runs to help you properly train for the Mendocino Running Festival. She will be available before and after every training run to discuss training plans, answer questions regarding your training regime, and help guide you toward lifestyle choices that will optimize your training time.
Plan to have fun, learn a lot, meet some new people, and enjoy nature while having a goal in mind. We invite all levels of runners and encourage you to join just for the fun of it.
