Follow along virtually or join us twice a week for group training
This program is designed to work on cardiovascular base building to prepare for the upcoming fall racing season. We will build endurance with steady pace running and begin acclimating to the heat that comes with living in South Texas. Wednesday nights will be held in the Olmos Basin Park. We will work on shorter but higher intensity running followed by a boot-camp type strength and core workout. Saturday mornings will be a time-based steady paced running, followed by a group core workout and stretching session. This program will provide a training plan for beginner, intermediate or advanced runners. The training plan will include workouts for all days so you can follow along virtually if you are not able to make the group meet-ups. Beginners are encouraged to start with run/walk intervals and will be provided a progressive schedule for interval-based (run/walk) training. Over the course of the session, we will increase the amount of time spent running. We will work toward a goal race on July 17. The race at the end of this session will help you determine your goal paces for fall racing. Summer training is hard. We promise to make it fun!
