MCKINLEY PARK LOOP
McKinley Park is located in the East Sacramento neighborhood with a perimeter loop that circles the park. This loop follows a paved path that is approximately 1 mile in length, making it ideal for runners looking to track their distance. In addition to the perimeter loop, McKinley Park features intersecting paths that crisscross the interior of the park. These paths can be incorporated into a longer run or used for variation in training routes. Throughout the park, you'll find amenities such as water fountains, benches, and restroom facilities, which are convenient for runners during their workout. The paths are mostly flat, with gentle slopes in some areas, making it suitable for both casual runners and those looking to incorporate speed or hill training.
LAKE NATOMA LOOP
Lake Natoma is situated along the American River. The loop is about 11 miles long, starting from the Sacramento State University Aquatic Center and following the trail along the northern and eastern shores of the lake. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle inclines, suitable for runners of all levels. Along the route, runners will enjoy picturesque views of Lake Natoma, which is surrounded by rolling hills, oak woodlands, and occasional wildlife sightings. LAND PARK LOOP
The Land Park loop in Sacramento offers a delightful running route through one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods. The loop is approximately 3.5 miles in length and encircles William Land Park. The loop starts and ends at the William Land Golf Course parking lot, located off Freeport Boulevard or Sutterville Road. The route is mostly flat with some gentle inclines and great for all running workouts. The park is also home to the Sacramento Zoo, adding to its charm and providing occasional glimpses of exotic animals. William Land Park offers amenities such as water fountains, restrooms, picnic areas, and benches along the loop. Parking is available at various points around William Land Park.
