To those of you just beginning your journey with Fleet Feet CIM Training, welcome to the training program! The rest of your are continuing your 26-week journey to CIM — we are so proud of what you have accomplished so far!
The next 18 weeks of your preparation for the California International Marathon will be guided by a training plan developed by your coaches over years of training athletes for this event. Keep scowling to access the training plan...
This summer, you will begin your journey of preparing your body and mind to run 26.2 miles. The team at Fleet Feet will be with you every step of the way, coaching you, supporting you, motivating you, and celebrating your achievements. We can't wait to meet you!
As a reminder, children and pets (yes, this includes dogs) are not allowed at in-person practices.

Training Plans
The training plan is your road map to success! It contains daily assignments and explanations to keep you moving in the right direction. The training plan offers three options:
Finish: Complete your first marathon. Designed for athletes who have not completed a marathon, or have not competed a marathon recently. Best for athletes whose recent training volume has been fewer than 20 miles per week or less than 4 hours per week.
Improve: Become a faster, stronger marathoner. Designed for athletes who have completed a marathon recently, or have completed several half marathons recently. Best for athletes whose recent training volume has been 20-35 miles per week or 4-6 hours per week.
Perform: Compete in your age group, capture an ambitious PR, or qualify for a dream race. Designed for experienced runners who have completed a marathon or many half marathons recently. Best for athletes whose recent training volume has been more than 35 miles per week.

Webinar: Mental Aspects of the Marathon
On July 22nd, Fleet Feet Coach Michelle covered the mental aspects of the marathon. We know some of you were unable to attend so please watch the recording of that webinar.
There is more to running than just training your muscles and improving your stamina. It is also a mental sport. The great news is that mental toughness can be learned. With proper tools and lots of practice, you can be well on your way to mindset mastery.
Physical strength will get you to the start line - but mental strength will get you to the finish line!

Group Run Etiquette
Just as there are "rules of the road" when it comes to driving, there are similar safety rules and etiquette for walkers and runners.

Hydration for Runners
Hydrating properly is one of the most important things you can do as a runner. With the right hydration plan, you can crush your goals and feel awesome while doing so. Without properly hydrating, you might be unable to hit your normal paces and even hit the dreaded wall. Our comprehensive hydration guide will help you maximize your training so you can keep running strong.

Become a Fleet Feet Mentor!
If you've enjoyed training with Fleet Feet, consider joining our dedicated team, and be the glue that makes training programs happen!
We're looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in being a Training Programs Mentors.
Mentors are volunteers who assist the coaches and keep the energy of the group positive.
Mentors earn in-store coupon, free training programs, and cool mentor swag as well as the reward of knowing you helped someone achieve their goal(s).

Resilient Runner is a strength training class programmed by Dr. Kim of Lakás Physical Therapy & Performance led by Fleet Feet coaches.
Strength training will help you become a stronger athlete, regardless of your skill level!
