To our Community, Training Family & Pub Runners –
We miss you! And we wanted to give you a little update on what the rest of the year is going to look like for us.
When COVID hit, we had to make the tough decision to cancel Pub Runs temporarily and cancel in-person group workouts for the rest of the Spring training program season. We did this because as a small and locally owned business that is actively involved in and with members of our community, we have the responsibility to keep our team, training family, pub runners and community safe.
Races are going virtual, and those that are still happening have strict safety guidelines. Our pub runs and training programs typically bring out well over a hundred participants 2-3 days a week. Phase 3 Guidelines state that individuals need to maintain a distance of at least 10 feet between each other while exercising.
We have always operated our business fairly and have played by the rules – and that will not change. In accordance with CDC Guidelines and mandates from the Governor, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel Pub Runs and Fleet Feet Training for the remainder of 2020. We will NOT have any in-person group workouts or events at this time.
We feel it is our responsibility as a business that has been heavily involved in the Roanoke community for 17+ years to continue to do the right thing so we can keep our team, friends, family, customers and community at large safe, and stop the spread. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience with us as we continue to navigate this difficult time. To say we have been blessed by your support over the past 5 months is an understatement. It has been and continues to be an extremely difficult time in the world of small business, and we have felt your support every single day. It is because of YOU that Fleet Feet Roanoke is able to continue to serve the Roanoke Valley and help make it a better place.
With that being said, we are working on some exciting and FUN virtual options to help keep you motivated through the remainder of 2020, and we are working on plans for 2021. Stay tuned! We do not know what the future will bring, but we promise that Fleet Feet will be here to keep you motivated and moving forward.
In case you haven’t heard, running is still NOT cancelled, so join our virtual community in the Fleet Feet Roanoke Running is NOT Cancelled Facebook group and come visit us in store. We look forward to a time when we can safely host Pub Runs and Training Programs again.
Keep moving and stay healthy!
