Badass Lady Gang is a national organization with local chapters that organize weekly social runs in various cities. Per BALG Cary:
The #SportsBraSquad started as a way for women to ditch their shirts, along with their insecurities, and redefine how we see strength. The goal of the day is to connect women and redefine what strength looks like by showing the world that strength comes in all shapes, sizes, ages, and looks. There's strength in numbers. This event is about connecting and celebrating strength.
But ditching your shirt for the first time can be terrifying! That's why on July 13th, Sports Bra Squads all over the world will be hosting group runs and workouts so you can feel safe and supported while you get sweaty with women of all shapes and sizes.
Join us at 8:30am on Saturday, July 13th at Lake Crabtree (2139 Old Reedy Creek Trailhead) for a 3 mile fun run and/or walk to celebrate Global #SportsBraSquad day! The course will follow BALG's standard course, which comprises two out-and-backs, allowing participants to cheer each other on at many points along the way.
Will there be bag drop?
Do you need to run in a sports bra?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. The mission of the #SportsBraSquad is to redefine what strength looks like by showing the world that strong bodies come in all shapes and sizes. And visibility is important! It's empowering to take up space and challenge that inner dialogue that says that you aren't thin enough to rock a sports bra. BUT TERRIFYING. And not all women feel strong running in their sports bra. We want you to run in whatever you'd like. Long sleeve, short sleeve, or sports bra, just wear whatever makes you feel strong.
Is this women only?
NO. MEN, we need your support!
Can I bring my children?
Are all athletic levels welcome?
YES! We can't wait to see you out there!
