No Boundaries Beginner 5K Training Program
If you’ve ever thought, “Maybe I could run a 5K… someday,” this is your moment. Fleet Feet’s No Boundaries Beginner 5K training program is designed for people just like you: nervous, curious and ready to try something new with the support of a welcoming community. No Boundaries 5K is a refreshed take on what you may have known as Ignite, built on the same supportive coaching, beginner-friendly training, and welcoming community that meet you where you are. Created with first-time runners in mind, this program offers flexible plans for intervals and run-to-finish goals, consistent guidance from a coach, and a group that keeps you motivated and accountable. You will build confidence, learn to run smarter, and gear up with exclusive in-store discounts as you work toward the 5K finish line with no pressure and no limits on what you can achieve.
Your No Boundaries Journey
Over the course of eight weeks, you’ll join weekly group workouts led by a Fleet Feet coach and supported by mentors who have been in your shoes. Each session includes a warm up, a workout tailored for beginners and a cool down. You’ll also receive weekly emails with tips on running form, hydration, motivation and more. Throughout the program, you’ll be invited to participate in brand demo runs hosted by Fleet Feet partners and local community organizations to help you find the best gear and stay healthy for race day.
As race day approaches, you’ll receive expert prep guidance to ease nerves and build excitement. Coaches and mentors will be cheering you on before, during and after your big moment. After you cross the finish line, we’ll celebrate together with medals, photos and plenty of high fives.
To wrap it all up, you’ll be invited to a post-race party where you can reflect on your journey, share your story and reconnect with your new running family. MEET YOUR COACH:
BEKAH OLSON (EMAIL)
I have been running consistently for about 18 years. I started running because after losing weight through diet and walking, I needed a way to burn more calories in a shorter period of time; as a mom I was chasing three little girls around and didn't have time for my workout to take all day! My first race was a sprint distance triathlon. I had absolutely no idea of what I was doing, but I got hooked. I did one triathlon a year for several years until I decided to try a half marathon. I really found my happy place in running, and over the years as my kids have gotten older, I have dedicated more time and energy to the sport. I discovered that I really love the mental challenge of speed workouts and running with other people! I have run many half marathons and am up to 13 marathons including the Boston Marathon, Chicago Marathon and New York City Marathon (which have been the coolest experiences ever!).
I am an ACE Fitness Personal Trainer and RRCA Certified Running Coach, over the last 10 years I have worked with many first-time exercisers through the YMCA and Fleet Feet. In 2018, I started coaching the running training groups at Fleet Feet in Louisville, KY. I have coached runners from Couch to 5k to half and full marathons. At Fleet Feet Tacoma, I've been coaching our 5K and our distance groups since 2020. I love talking with runners and chatting about all things running!

- Starts: First group practice is Tuesday, March 10 at 6:00 pm
- Program Length: 8 weeks

- Objective Distance: We're preparing for the TCMA 5k on May 2nd. We welcome runners in our Puget Sound community training for other races and are happy to adjust your plan to meet your goals.
- Experience Level: Training plans will be geared towards two different race-day goals:
- Interval to Finish (Walk/Run to the finish line)
- Run to Finish (Steady pace to the finish line)
- Connect: Our 5k Training Facebook Group is a great way to share photos and connect with the other runners outside of meetup times.
- Price: $70 + fees, excluding race registration
