
No Boundaries Beginner 5K Training Program
If you’ve ever thought, “Maybe I could run a 5K… someday,” this is your moment. Fleet Feet’s No Boundaries Beginner 5K training program is designed for people just like you: nervous, curious and ready to try something new with the support of a welcoming community. No Boundaries 5K is a refreshed take on what you may have known as Ignite, built on the same supportive coaching, beginner-friendly training, and welcoming community that meet you where you are. Created with first-time runners in mind, this program offers flexible plans for intervals and run-to-finish goals, consistent guidance from a coach, and a group that keeps you motivated and accountable. You will build confidence, learn to run smarter, and gear up with exclusive in-store discounts as you work toward the 5K finish line with no pressure and no limits on what you can achieve.
Your No Boundaries Journey
Over the course of eight weeks, you’ll join weekly group workouts led by a Fleet Feet coach and supported by mentors who have been in your shoes. Each session includes a warm up, a workout tailored for beginners and a cool down. You’ll also receive weekly emails with tips on running form, hydration, motivation and more. Throughout the program, you’ll be invited to participate in brand demo runs hosted by Fleet Feet partners and local community organizations to help you find the best gear and stay healthy for race day.
As race day approaches, you’ll receive expert prep guidance to ease nerves and build excitement. Coaches and mentors will be cheering you on before, during and after your big moment. After you cross the finish line, we’ll celebrate together with medals, photos and plenty of high fives.
To wrap it all up, you’ll be invited to a post-race party where you can reflect on your journey, share your story and reconnect with your new running family. - Objective Distance: 5K - The Big Run on June 3rd
- Experience Level: Training plans will be geared towards two different race-day goals:
- Interval to Finish (Walk/Run to the finish line)
- Run to Finish (Steady pace to the finish line)
- Connect: Our 5k Training Facebook Group is a great way to share photos and connect with the other runners outside of meetup times.

- Location: Wednesday workouts start at Fleet Feet Puyallup, Saturdays will start offsite at East Puyallup Trailhead (East Puyallup Trailhead Puyallup, WA 98372)

I’ve been a student of running for 50 years. One of my most memorable experiences was attending a running camp led by the legendary Jim Ryun, who inspired us to believe in ourselves and dream big. Over the years, I’ve coached high school cross-country for two seasons, completed six marathons (including Boston) and one 50K race.
Beyond my personal running journey, I’ve immersed myself in the sport through countless books, articles, and, most recently, a coaching certification program through McMillan Running.
People run for many different reasons, and I’d love to hear what motivates you. My goal is to run for the rest of my life, and while running well takes time and dedication, it can also be a truly joyful experience.
