This 12-week trail running program is geared towards advanced runners who want to branch out with new experiences within their weekly running routine or for those who already run trails, and are looking to expand their knowledge and skills. 1x per week guided training runs will explore the trails of the East Bay and Tri-Valley. Each week will look a little different in terms of the trailheads where we start our runs and the distances we run. Trail Heads does not prepare you for any specific distance, but rather teaches the techniques and skills of trail running. We will provide a 12-week mileage training plan customized for you, which will progress incrementally from week to week. Each week will include an educational element of trail running and trail racing to prepare you for your next adventure!
Session One will prepare runners to participate in the Horseshoe Lake race in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains, with distances from 5 miles to 50k.

More information will post this summer before the program starts in September, but here's a sneak preview:

Learn the twists and turns, ups and downs and pure ENJOYMENT of trail running while becoming more comfortable with off-road terrain. Group sessions will include methods to help avoid injuries, tips on how to stretch, recover, and ways to stay hydrated and fueled. You will learn basic trail navigation and safety with runs from 2-4 miles each week.
