But what happens to your old shoes after you drop them off? The shoes that are still in wearable condition get donated to a local charity partner who donates them to people in need in the Bay Area. The shoes that are not in wearable condition get sent to a company that will recycle the footwear into raw materials and repurposed for various industries, such as creating new shoes, playground surfaces, and even insulation materials. So, you can rest assured that your old shoes are getting a second chance at life.
