Fleet Feet Sports PDX is owned and operated by Wade and Julie Pannell. Both native to the Inland Northwest, the Pannell’s have spent their entire lives in the Rocky Mountains and relocated to Spokane, WA in 2009. Along with their two sons, Grafton and Bridger, the entire family is engaged with the running, triathlon and active lifestyle communities in Spokane.
Wade grew up a cyclist in Montana and graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Landscape Architecture. After a 15-year career in resort real estate development, Wade found himself 60 pounds overweight and dissatisfied with his fitness and level of activity. After being challenged by a friend to become more active, Wade started running and at first couldn’t complete a single mile without several breaks. After his first 5k in early 2006, the hook was set and the desire to be involved in helping people find their path to fitness began to grow. His love of running and cycling has culminated in the sport of triathlon and Wade completed Ironman Coeur D’Alene last year.
Julie was raised in Moscow, ID and grew up a gymnast. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Early Childhood Development and has spent her adult life dedicated to her children and their school communities and friends. Julie has always been committed to a fit lifestyle and in late 2010 completed her first marathon in Maui, HI. Later that year, she was surprised by an unexpected heart attack at the age of 37. As a survivor, Julie has returned to her once active lifestyle of training and is committed to using her story to inspire others to overcome physical adversity in their lives.
In April 2017, the Pannell's acquired Fleet Feet Tacoma followed by the three Fleet Feet PDX locations in the fall; officially establishing the Fleet Feet Sports Northwest brand. Fleet Feet Bonney Lake joined the network in March 2018 as the Pannell's look to continue the dedication to their customers and northwest community.
Fleet Feet Sports PDX is dedicated to supporting Portland and Vancouver's running and fitness enthusiast communities by providing quality training programs, educational opportunities and the right footwear and apparel to meet your needs. Originally from Houston, Rachel has lived in Portland since 2013. She hated running in high school, in fact, she was famously last in a lot of her high school's JV cross country races. Rachel learned to love running during college in Virginia and grad school in Seattle. Running with people and running in the mountains, respectively, changed her impression of running's true (and lasting) benefits. Rachel works for Fleet Feet because she loves the running community and for all the healing and laughter and discipline it's provided her.

Kevin "Coop" Cooper
Assistant Manager - Vancouver
Kevin Cooper (aka Coop) has been with Fleet Feet Sports PDX since 2011. In addition to being the manager in the Vancouver store, he frequently attends races and other events promoting Fleet Feet Sports PDX. As for his running, Coop has been running since he was a teenager and enjoys cherry picking races of all distances with the weakest possible fields so he can place well overall and in his age group while doing the absolute minimum amount of training. When not working or running, you can find Coop hanging out with his dogs and taking them for long walks. His favorite part of Fleet Feet is seeing the way running can empower people of all backgrounds and ability levels to be the best "athlete" they can be.
