May is Mental Health Awareness Month
For the month of May we are featuring stories of runners and athletes in our community in an effort to raise awareness around the importance of Mental Health.
Pro runner Johnny Gregorek set a unique world record last year: The fastest mile run in blue jeans. The blazing record of 4:06.25 was set in honor of his late brother, Paddy, who lost his battle with mental illness in 2019. Gregorek’s world record run raised over $37,000 for the National Alliance on Mental Health of New York City.
This May, don your jeans and join ASICS and Johnny virtually for your own blue jean mile in honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month. FREE Registration is open through the end of the month. ASICS will donate $40,625 in honor of Johnny’s record time and when you register you can donate to NAMI-NYC, too.
