"The Endurance Artist" with Jared Beasley and Lazarus Lake
Meet Lazarus Lake: The Mind Behind the World’s Toughest Races
Dubbed “the Leonardo da Vinci of Pain,” the legendary Lazarus Lake — mastermind behind the infamous Barkley Marathons and Big’s Backyard Ultra — is making a rare appearance in Nashville for an unforgettable evening celebrating the launch of The Endurance Artist, a new book by author Jared Beasley.
Beasley spent five years immersed in the ultrarunning world to craft this compelling, behind-the-scenes look at the most punishing endurance events on the planet — and the eccentric genius who created them. This special event offers a unique opportunity to hear stories straight from Laz himself, alongside Beasley in a candid conversation moderated by Jay Kelly of UltraSignup.
Presented in partnership with HOKA, UltraSignup, and Parnassus Books, this iconic gathering will take place at the beautifully restored Clementine Hall. Your $20 ticket includes:
✔ Event entry
✔ One complimentary drink
✔ Light snacks
✔ A small commemorative gift
Signed copies of The Endurance Artist will be available for purchase on-site, and 100% of ticket proceeds will benefit Feeding America, one of Laz’s favorite charities.
