Fleet Feet Running Club Training Program Offerings for 2020
Last year over 500 people, from first-timers to seasoned runners, experienced the power of running through Fleet Feet Montclair's training programs. Participants become like family, and we are honored to be a part of their journey, witnessing their triumphs as they conquer new distances, shave minutes off previous personal bests, and cross the finish line.
Our professionally-designed programs offer more than just a workout. From day one, you will become part of our running/walking community with experienced coaches and mentors who work out WITH you and cheer you on. You will make new friends with similar goals, and enjoy a motivational atmosphere that keeps you engaged so you want to - and can - stick with the program...even when it snows or rains!
We invite you to join us and experience your own life-changing adventure. We have programs for all ability levels - walkers, aspiring runners, as well as those who want to be more competitive. Stay in the loop and be informed as training program registration opens and/or new programs are offered.
BEGINNER PROGRAMS - Ready to take the first step in your fitness journey? Whether you are just beginning your first training experience or looking for accountability with a group, our Coaches and Mentors will help you cross the finish line of your first race. The 5K Finish program is supportive of both beginner runners and walkers. Our 5K Fast program is for those who want to take their 5K experience to another level.
MID-DISTANCE PROGRAMS - Whether you're a casual runner looking to get faster, go a little further or you've just finished your first 5K and want to keep the ball rolling, our intermediate training programs can push you to the next level. We've got the 8K and 10K distances for those ready for a new challenge. And, we offer a 10K program with a twist - adding a 15K progression for those looking to train a few weeks longer! Delve a little deeper into the world of running with new training techniques and continue to learn about safety & visibility, hydration, nutrition management and much more. Throughout these programs, you'll gradually increase your mileage as you train to be mentally and physically fit to endure longer and harder runs. As always, coaches and mentors will be with you every step of the way!
DISTANCE PROGRAMS - A hallmark for testing endurance, 13.1 and 26.2 mile races take a significant amount of training, both physically and mentally. Our training programs focus on both of these aspects with weekly training plans, newsletters, coaching and motivational speakers that will better prepare you for crossing the finish line. We work to educate you on proper form, pacing, fueling, stretching, strength training, endurance and more!
SPECIALTY & YOUTH PROGRAMS - If you are looking for a bigger challenge or find you are stuck in a rut with your training, consider spicing things up by venturing off the beaten path with our Intro to Trail Running and our NEW 10-Mile Trail Training Program. Need to build strength and muscle efficiencies? Then our Yoga for Runners is a perfect choice! Have you heard how the Chi Running Technique can improve running form and reduce injuries? Check out our one-time 4-hour Chi Running Workshop. Of course, we can't forget our young runners! Our popular Youth Track Series is back. This program is perfect for introducing and encouraging running in kids ages 6 to 12. We are also excited to introduce the Midland Mini Milers - a chance for family members to train together in a fun, non-competitive environment. And, our High School runners can enjoy our two-day Summer XC Camp jam packed with fun, running, learning and more running!
COACHES & MENTORS - Our Coaches and Mentors are our invaluable resources to our training program participants and our best representatives of Fleet Feet Montclair. They attend every group workout throughout a training program and offer positive energy and attitude to the group. We're beside you every step of the way!
