Girls on the Run of the Triangle is a character development program for girls ages 8-12. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Our 12 week program helps develop and enhance girls’ social, emotional, social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. GOTR teams are located in 56 teams all across the Triangle. Spring registration will open November 18th.
Girls on the Run of the Triangle relies on volunteers to assist with many different aspects of our organization from coaching to one time opportunities. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved at a variety of different times and in many different ways.
"Our mission is to provide citizens a means to protect the beauty, health, and heritage of the Mobile Bay Watershed and our coastal communities."
With more than 4,500 members, we advocate for environmental protection and restoration because we believe that is the key to a thriving economy, healthy community and high quality of life. Mobile Baykeeper achieves our mission by taking a systematic approach to address environmental concerns:
We investigate the policies, regulations and science behind every issue to fully understand the problem. Exploring all avenues, we are able to determine the best solution to address each issue.
We form diverse partnerships with organizations and businesses. Combining efforts enables us to have greater impact in attaining our common goals: clean water, clean air and healthy communities.
Armed with facts, we educate our members, the public and decision makers on the problems and solutions. We advocate for change when, where and how it is needed most.
Starting in 1986, Camp Rap-A-Hope is a non-profit organization that offers free fun through year round programs for children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Camp Rap-A-Hope's largest event each year is a week-long summer camp for children ages 7 - 17. Each year, kids from all along the Gulf Coast meet together to experience the fun and excitement of a traditional summer camp. In addition to Camp Week, Camp Rap-A-Hope offers many other programs for the entire family.
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
