May Events at Fleet Feet Treasure Valley

We are heading into May with a lot of energy and momentum. This time of year continues to bring a mix of conditions, from breezy mornings to warmer afternoons and longer stretches of sunshine. It is a great reminder to stay consistent, adapt as needed, and keep showing up. May is all about building on the progress of spring, staying connected to our running and walking community, and finding joy in the miles ahead. With a full lineup of races, group runs, and in-store events, there are plenty of opportunities to stay active and engaged.

Here’s what’s happening this month:

May 1  – Best of Boise: Vote for Fleet Feet Treasure Valley!

May 2  – Girls on the Run Celebratory 5K

There’s nothing quite like the energy of a community coming together to cheer on young runners as they cross the finish line. On Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Fleet Feet Treasure Valley will be at the Girls on the Run Treasure Valley Celebratory 5K at Kleiner Memorial Park—and we’d love for you to join us in supporting this unforgettable day. 

On-site registration will be available for family, friends and alumni of GOTR  on Saturday morning starting at 8:30 am.

May 7 - Brooks and Boise Greenbelt Relays Demo Run

Join Fleet Feet Treasure Valley, Boise Running, and Brooks for a fun, easygoing stroll through The Village at Meridian! Brooks will be at Fleet Feet Meridian with demo pairs of the new Ghosts and Ghost Trail, giving you the perfect chance to test them out while enjoying a pre–Boise Greenbelt Relays shakeout. Stop in to pick up your packet, then stick around for a test run in the latest shoes!

May 8 - Brooks and Trail Fridays Demo Run

Date & Time: Friday, May 8 | 6:00 AM & 9:30 AM
Location: Fort Boise Dog Park - 733 Mountain Cove Road Boise, ID 83702

Join Fleet Feet Treasure Valley, Brooks Running, and Trail Fridays for a morning on the trails at Fort Boise Military Reserve! Brooks will be on site with demo pairs of the Ghost Trail, giving you the chance to try them out while cruising the trails. Don’t miss this opportunity to test drive a new pair from Brooks!

May 9  – Boise Greenbelt Relays - RACE DAY!

Take on the entire Boise River Greenbelt in a stunning loop course with your crew on Saturday, May 9 at the second annual Boise Greenbelt Relays, the only relay race in the Treasure Valley. Whether you’re running solo or teaming up in groups of 2, 4, or 6–7, you’ll conquer all 45 miles with lively transition zones in scenic parks, complete with aid, refreshments, and plenty of good vibes along the way.

May 12  – Spring Training Program: Free Injury Screenings

On Tuesday, May 12th we’ll have our training program partner - Wright PT at Fleet Feet Meridian to help address any injury concerns you have. Our goal is to help you move pain free and reach your goals this season!

May 13  – Boise Run Collective May Group Run/Walk

May 22  – Topo Athletics and Trail Fridays Demo Run

Hit the trails with Topo and Trail Fridays for a fun and energizing outing, and be among the first to try out their newest trail shoes, the Vista and MT Racer. Prefer road miles? No problem, you can also test out the Atmos, Aura, and Ultrafly and find your perfect fit.

May 23  – Kick For Kenya 5K

Date & Time: Saturday, May 23  | 9:30 AM
Location: Eastwind Community Church 4750 South Surprise Way Boise, ID 83716 

Run or walk for a cause and help support meaningful, lasting change in rural southeastern Kenya through partnerships with Kenya Kids, TACEP, and local community leaders. Proceeds will fund education, public health, food and water security, and the long-term vision of a community center that will serve as a hub for learning, support services, and sustainable development.

May 30 – Pace For Peace: Run for Refugees and Sudan 5K

Join us for the Pace for Peace: Run for Refugees & Sudan, a 5K walk/run along the Greenbelt starting at Ann Morrison Park, where our community comes together to support refugee resettlement locally and globally. Every step helps raise funds and awareness for organizations like the Agency for New Americans and Atiye Charity Association, creating real impact for displaced communities while building connection, hope, and opportunity.

May 31 - Run for Dunn 5K

Date & Time: Sunday, May 31  | 10:30 AM
Location: Kristine Armstrong Park - 500 Walnut St Boise ID 83709

Run for Dunn is more than just a morning of movement, it honors the legacy of Amy Dunn by promoting melanoma awareness, sun safety, and the importance of early detection. Participants can enjoy a supportive, no-pressure atmosphere while receiving a commemorative t-shirt, complimentary lunch, and access to free skin cancer screenings.

 May Price Increase Reminder

Several upcoming races will see price increases after midnight on Sunday, May 31. Register early to save.

Treasure Valley Rescue Run

Price Increase: May 31 after midnight
Race Day: June 6 at 8:00 AM

The Treasure Valley Rescue Run features 5K and 10K races plus a free Kids Dash on the Eagle Greenbelt. This event is stroller and dog friendly, with finisher medals for all racers.

 The Caldwell Classic

Price Increase: May 31 after midnight
Race Day: June 20 at 8:00 AM

The Caldwell Classic offers a fast, flat 5K and 1-Mile Race designed for PRs, fun, and all ages.

 Bogus Trail Series - Three Races

Price Increase: May 31 after midnight
Race Day(s): June 26, July 10, and July 24 all starting at 6:00 PM

The Bogus Trail Series returns this summer with three fun and challenging Friday evening races at Bogus Basin bringing the community together on the trails.

 Foothills XC12K

Price Increase: May 31 after midnight
Race Day: August 22 at 8:00 AM

The XC12K offers 5K and 12K options to run or hike with an 11:00 AM cutoff, all while supporting the Bogus Basin Nordic Team and Nordic skiing in the Treasure Valley.

Idaho Running Day

Price Increase: May 31 after midnight
Race Day: October 17 at 8:00 AM

Idaho Running Day includes a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon along the Boise Greenbelt from Lucky Peak to Southeast Boise.
