Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, Fleet Feet Meridian's training program can help you achieve your goals and cross the finish line at our most exciting events of the year: The Big Run 5K and 10K Training Programs!
Our running group will train for the Treasure Valley Rescue Runs 5K/10K on June 10th, and we can't wait for you to join us. The 10-week program begins with a training plan starting on April 3rd, and the first group run is on Thursday, April 6th, at 5:30 PM. The program ends on Saturday, June 10th, with a 5K or 10K race at the Treasure Valley Rescue Runs 5K/10K.
This program caters to athletes of all levels, with several training plans to choose from, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Regardless of your experience level, Fleet Feet Meridian has got you covered.
And we are thrilled to introduce our coach, A.K. Whittaker! A.K. is a mom, athlete, and passionate running coach with over a decade of experience in the fitness industry. She has completed more than ten full marathons, countless half marathons, two IRONMAN 70.3s, and hundreds of 5K and 10K races. In 2018, A.K. faced a life-threatening medical condition while running a marathon in Washington, which landed her in the hospital for 13 days. After months of physical therapy, she was nominated for a Humans of HOKA award, which she received in January 2020.
A.K. believes in redemption, second chances, and working hard to achieve your dreams. As a Fleet Feet Meridian coach, she brings her vast experience as a Run Coach, Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, Rossiter, and USA Weightlifting Level Two Coach to guide you on your running journey. Her biggest running dream is to complete all six Abbots World Marathons, and with Boston in 2018 and NYC in 2019 under her belt, she is currently training for Chicago to achieve Abbots Marathon number three. Her ultimate goal is to conquer London, Tokyo, and Berlin someday.
But right now, A.K.'s training looks a little different than it did two years ago because she has a beautiful nine-month-old baby that she gave birth to in June. Training with a postpartum body has been a significant adjustment, but as A.K. says, "there is magic in movement, and I will ALWAYS embrace that gift!"
