October already? Crisp mornings, colorful fall leaves, and perfect running weather make this the best time to lace up and join in on Treasure Valley’s fall events.
Here is what we have going on this month:
Idaho High Mountain Triathlon
Date and Time: Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 AM
Location: Yellow Pine, ID
Tackle a challenging relay triathlon from Warm Lake to Yellow Pine, crossing a 7,300’ summit. Open to both able-bodied and adaptive athletes, with awards and an after party in Yellow Pine. Proceeds support local needs and the 2026 Triathlon.
Rush Creek Stampede
Date and Time: Saturday, October 4 at 8:30 AM
Location: Cambridge, ID
Run or walk the 5K, 10K, or half marathon with Cuddy Mountain as your backdrop. Proceeds support local schools, with student-made medals and 13 years of tradition behind this community race.
Treasure Valley Out of the Darkness Walk
Date and Time: Saturday, October 4 at 9:00 AM
Location: Julius Kleiner Memorial Park, Meridian, ID
Join the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Idaho Chapter in the fight against suicide. Together, we’ll raise awareness, honor loved ones, and bring hope to those impacted by mental health struggles and suicide loss. VOLUTNEERS are needed to help with course marshaling.

SueB 5K Walk/Run
Date and Time: Sunday, October 5 at 12:00 PM
Location: Julia Davis Park, Boise, ID
Honor the life of Susan “SueB” Newby and raise awareness about domestic violence. Includes a community resource fair, free race shirt, and proceeds to the WCA Endowment Fund.
An Evening with Brendan O’Meara
Date and Time: Monday, October 6 at 6:00 PM
Location: Fleet Feet Meridian (Village at Meridian), Meridian, ID
Join author Brendan O’Meara for a reading and discussion of The Front Runner: The Life of Steve Prefontaine, alongside Pre’s high school coach. Celebrate the legend of one of America’s most iconic runners.
Boise Run Collective - October Edition!
Date and Time: Tuesday, October 7 at 6:00 PM
Location: Idaho River Sports, Boise, ID
Meet local running, walking, and hiking groups for a short activity, giveaways, raffles, free sauna sessions, and injury screenings. Open to all paces, all levels, all people.
Pink Lotus Promise 5K
Date and Time: Sunday, October 12 at 10:00 AM
Location: Julius Kleiner Memorial Park, Meridian, ID
Enjoy a fun run/walk with food trucks, vendors, bounce houses, and free ice cream. All proceeds support The Pink Lotus Initiative and breast cancer awareness.
Idaho Running Day – SOLD OUT!
Date and Time: Saturday, October 18 at 7:00 AM
Location: Lucky Peak State Park, Boise, ID
A full day of racing on the Boise Greenbelt with a 5K, 10K, Half, and Marathon. Stunning views, custom medals, and top-notch race swag. VOLTUNEERS are needed to assist with various jobs.
