Frequently Asked Questions

We do not take appointments. We are open 7 days a week, except holidays. If you come during a busy time, just sign in on the board at the front of the stores and a fit professional will be with you as soon as they are free. 

 

We have brannock devices (those fancy medal devices that we all got measured on as kids) if the fit id® is being finicky or internet is down.  

 

Give yourself 30-45 minutes to be fit for shoes and/or inserts, in case it is busy. 

 

Most fittings are one-on-one. However, our staff can handle small groups if you’re bringing more than just yourself.  

 

Every mile counts. Most shoes we carry will last 250-500 miles depending on the cushion level, support and weight of the shoes.  

 

If we don’t have the color you want in-store, we can typically track down other colors from our other store or from the manufacturers themselves. Otherwise, you can order on fleetfeet.com.  

 

We offer a variety of running shoes, walking shoes, trail shoes (no mid-cut boots) and a limited amount of cross trainers/court shoes.  

 

I'm not a runner, can I still wear running shoes? 

Most of our walkers and customers working on their feet purchase running shoes. Lots of cushion and guidance options, in addition to widths. 

 

Yes, we recommend a technical or wool sock for activity. Breathable, non-cotton socks will last longer, your feet will be less sweaty and can also help with resisting blisters. 

 

We have a wide range of try-on socks available in case you forgot to bring yours. 

 

Signing up for a free account with us with your name and email will allow us to pull up in-store purchases made in Madison or Sun Prairie. In addition to that, you’ll start earning rewards!  

 

What is your return policy?
The Fleet Feet team is committed to FIT, and will work together to find the right FIT for you. Bras and other essentials will also wear differently, based on activity and frequency of use. If you are not satisfied with an item you purchased from us, please call or visit the store with your receipt within 30 days, and we will work together to find a solution.  If the item is worn, we will offer an in-store credit, if the item is resellable, with tags, box and original receipt, we will refund if within 30 day policy. See below for exceptions.

We have a Sneaker Impact box ready to collect and ship old shoes to places that recycle and reuse used athletic shoes. Just ask us where they go.
