Joining a Fleet Feet Training Group
Our blog post is written by Melanie, one of our half marathon training participants.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for how supportive you have been during my first half marathon training. I am so happy I took Lynn’s advice and joined the group. I’m sure you’ve encountered so many like me who were so scared to take on the challenge—I was truly terrified, yet excited. Everyone in the group is really awesome and I look forward to our runs together.
While my recent injury totally sucks, I greatly appreciate the extra time you have taken to answer my questions, check in on me, send product recommendations, and give advice on getting back into the groove. I think I would have given up if not for you and the group. I’m still feeling really good after last night’s run (and I’m so grateful to Lynn for sticking with me even when I needed to walk a bit). Running is still pretty hard for me, but you and the group have truly helped me get to a mindset where I can say I actually enjoy it! Even during my days of running about 12-15 miles a week (many, many moons ago), I never “liked” it, I just did it. Now, I think I even get that runner’s high and still feel like I’m accomplishing something awesome even when I have to talk a bit. It really is an unbelievable feeling!
Cheers,
Melanie
