Simply stated, FITLOSOPHY™ is our FIT Philosophy and our approach to everything we do. Our process begins by ensuring that runners and walkers of all abilities (and ages) are fit with the proper footwear, sports bras and technical apparel to meet their individual needs.
Step One: Getting to Know You
We listen carefully to your needs, take into consideration any aches and pains, and evaluate your experience with your current footwear.
Step Two: Measurement
Several measurements of each foot help us determine proper sizing. We record both un-weighted (seated) and weighted (standing) measurements as well as different point to point measurements. We will take a look at your feet for signs that will help us fit you properly and determine any special needs.
Step Three: Gait Analysis
We’ll observe your foot in motion. This helps us determine how you move and the biomechanics of your gait.
Step Four: Fitting and Recommendations
Based on our findings, we will bring out the shoes that may work best for you. We’ll carefully inspect the fit and watch as you run or walk in each shoe. We’ll discuss the options, provide you with our recommendations and answer any questions.
Step Five: The Decision
This one is all you since you are the only person who knows how the shoes actually feel.

Fleet Feet Sports carries a variety of inserts to help support your feet and align your body. Inserts are designed in a variety of shapes and sizes to meet the individual demands of your activities and footwear. Inserts align the bone structure of your feet inside the shoe, creating a consistent and efficient structural foundation.
When you stand on a supportive insert, you can feel the firmly supportive shape. Wearing soft inserts is like running in the soft, dry sand at the beach. Initially it feels good, but you quickly grow tired, waste energy, and begin to feel the stress on your knees and back. Wearing supportive inserts is like running on firm, wet sand. It’s still comfortable, but your feet feel more balanced and stable. The structural benefits of inserts play an active role in both treatment and prevention of common overuse injuries. Choosing a sock that works for your feet and your activity level is a critical component of Fleet Feet Sports’ FITLOSOPHY. Consider the fact that your sock is the layer of material that sits directly next to your skin and is intended to wick moisture and protect your feet from calluses, blisters and other potential irritations. So, why not pick a pair of socks that fits your foot best? At Fleet Feet Sports we recommend that you wear non-cotton, breathable socks for running, walking or other activities. Our Bra Fit process is all about you. Proper fit will provide you with the freedom to move and exercise with comfort and confidence. We start our bra FIT process with questions about your activities and style preferences. Next, we take careful measurements and translate them into the correct size sports bra. Based on size and activity, we will select a few bras for you to try. Throughout the process we will offer tips and solutions to help you reach your goals. Here are few things to pay attention to:
Comfort – A good sports bra should feel comfortable, stay in place, and not chafe. The straps should not dig into the shoulders and the band should be comfortably snug to offer support, but not feel restrictive.Do jumping jacks, run in place, and swing your arms side to side to make sure what feels good on is comfortable and supportive when you're in motion.
Support - If you're a small or medium breasted woman (A to C cup), a compression bra will offer support and comfort. Or if you prefer, you can choose a bra that offers encapsulation for shaping as well as support. If you're a larger breasted woman (C to DD cup), encapsulating styles that separate and support your breasts are more comfortable and more supportive than compression bras. For maximum support, choose a sport bra that does both.
Moisture Control and Breathability - A good sports bra will wick sweat away from the skin and then dry quickly, and it will be breathable, allowing perspiration and excess heat to pass through. A good sports bra will keep you cooler and drier when it's hot, and drier and warmer when it's cold.
