"I realized early on that my dream career was to become a sports dietitian. Growing up a competitive dancer and swimmer, I was always intrigued by the impact eating certain foods before a competition or meet had on my performance. I had a love for science and how nutrition could have either the most beneficial or detrimental impact on both athletic performance and overall health.
My professional experience began after receiving Bachelors of Science degrees in both Dietetics and Exercise Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I went on to complete my dietetic internship at Saint Louis University to earn my title as a Registered Dietitian and a Masters of Science Degree in Nutrition & Physical Performance.
In June 2014, I founded my private practice, Eleat Sports Nutrition, LLC. As a sports dietitian and ACSM CPT/CEP, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients helping them to achieve their nutrition and fitness goals with evidence-based and credible knowledge. I have experience consulting high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in the MLB, NFL, and Olympics. Whether assisting an adult with weight management or educating an athlete on what to eat to maximize athletic performance, I have a passion for helping others achieve their goals and teaching them how to make healthy eating a part of their daily lifestyle."
"Christy is from Treynor, IA, where she was a four-sport athlete, excelling in cross country and track. She attended Creighton University, earning undergraduate degrees in Exercise Science and Psychology, as well as her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Christy is an experienced runner who has competed in three Olympic Trials in Marathon as well as in more than 50 marathons and 300 races, ranging from 5k to 50 milers. She is a certified coach with the Road Runners Club of America and has focused the majority of her continuing education on the treatment of runners and endurance athletes. Christy is certified in Kinesio Taping®, Graston Technique®, and Functional Dry Needling."
Certified Yoga Instructor
"Justina is a Type I diabetic, marathon-running, craft beer-drinking, yoga teacher. She decided years ago after being diagnosed with Type I diabetes and nearly losing her brother in a car accident that she was going to find a way to do everything she wanted to do in life. Not just half-assed, but truly live life and celebrate it through her training as a yoga teacher, her experiences running and training runners for marathons and helping fellow diabetics take care of themselves. She began a free running club for Zipline Brewing Company called Brave New Brew Running Crew. It's all about teaching people to love where they are, who they are and to never take their health and happiness for granted. Every month the club gets together at Zipline Brewery to run and donate to a different local nonprofit charity, then drinks to their accomplishments."
