Half Marathon Training

When it comes to New Year's Resolutions, consistency, accountability, and concrete goals are the keys to success. Joining Fleet Feet Knoxville Training is an awesome way to accomplish all three, while becoming stronger and fitter.
Our Winter Long Distance Training is perfect for seasoned runners wanting to set a PR or work on their endurance, and for those looking to increase their mileage with a new goal. The training program is designed to help you achieve your long-distance running goals in a positive and fun group atmosphere, all while pushing you to become stronger and faster. The 12-week training program is aimed at the Knoxville Half Marathon or Marathon Relay on April 12th.
Use the below information to decide the right program for you, based on goal race distance and training availabilty:
- For the Half Marathon (13.1 miles): you should be able to run/walk 5 miles comfortably
- For the Marathon Relay (6.1 - 7 miles): you should be able to run/walk 2 miles comfortably
- Bi-weekly Coach-led Sessions - able to meet Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings
- Single Coach-led Session - able to meet Saturday mornings

What to Expect:
Start Date: Week of Monday, January 19th, 2026
Q&A Sessions: Thursday, January 8th & January 15th at 6:00pm. This open-to-all discussion will be followed by an Open Group Walk/Run at 6:30pm.
2 Gear-Up Weeks: The first 2 weeks of training, all participants receive in-store discounts on any gear needed to get ready to train - from shoes to bras to hydration.
Workouts: Running Coach led on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM and Saturdays at 8:00 AM (start time to shift to 7:30am as daylight allows) . Additional training opportunities are available by joining us for our Open Group Runs on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. (Saturday Only trainees are invited to the additional training opportunities, as well)
Target Race: Knoxville Half Marathon or Marathon Relay Race on Sunday, April 12th
Participants Receive:
- A complete Training Program and calendar with detailed workouts
- Gear-up weeks with exclusive in-store discounts
- Weekly coach-led training sessions with hydration and nutrition samples provided
- Series of seminars on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, stretching and more
- Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement for the training cycle
- E-mail support – the coach will answer individual questions regarding training and running related issues
- Weekly Group Runs available from Fleet Feet Knoxville
- Technical fiber program shirt
