Half Marathon Training Program

Training for a big race takes more than logging miles. It takes a smart plan, the right support and people who know how to help you run steady through the tough weeks and the good ones too.
That’s what you’ll find in Fleet Feet’s Half Marathon Training Program in partnership with ASICS.
With two supported workouts each week, beginner and intermediate training tiers and running coaches who bring real expertise to every step, you’ll have what you need to train with purpose and finish with confidence.
This isn’t just about running a half marathon. It’s about discovering what you’re capable of with the right people beside you every step of the way. Decide which program is best for you by using the guide below:
- For the Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and 10 Miler: you should be able to run/walk 5 miles comfortably
- For the 10k (6.2 miles): you should be able to run/walk 2 miles comfortably
- Bi-weekly Coach-led Sessions - able to meet Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings
- Single Coach-led Session - able to meet Saturday mornings

What to Expect:
Start Date: Week of Monday, August 24th
Q&A Session: Thursday, August 13th at 6:00pm or Thursday, August 20th at 6:00pm. Join us after each Information Session for an open group run.
2 Gear-Up Weeks: The first 2 weeks of training, all participants receive in-store discounts on any gear needed to get ready to train - from footwear to bras to hydration. Training participants receive exclusive ASICS savings, as well!
Workouts: Tuesdays at 6:30 PM and Saturdays at 7:00 AM starting the week of Aug 24th. Additional training opportunities are available by joining us for our Open Group Runs on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Target Race: Loop Lope 10 Miler on Sunday, November 8th. Additional Options - Veteran Salute 10k/5k on November 7th or Secret City Half Marathon on November 14th. Complete all three goal races and receive a special commemorative gift!
Participants Receive:
- A complete Training Program and calendar with detailed workouts
- Gear-up weeks in-store, including 20% off full-priced ASICS shoes!
- Weekly coach-led training sessions with hydration provided
- Series of seminars on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, and stretching
- Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement
- E-mail support – the coach will answer individual questions regarding training and running related issues throughout the program
- Additional weekly Group Run options available from Fleet Feet Knoxville
- ASICS racing singlet and long-sleeve training shirt
- Discounted entry to Veterans Salute and Secret City and GUARANTEED entry into Loop Lope (up to 30 spots)
