Summer is here and we have some new footwear updates to tell you about! Alejandro, our FIT Specialist has broken down what you need to know about the new kicks! Check out what he has to say.
New Balance - We are pumped about New Balance’s update to the 880. The 880v3 is ideal for high mileage runners. ACTEVA lite cushioning and Abzorb technology makes the ride plusher but the fit is very similar to the well-received 880v2.
Saucony has updated two of their staple shoes, the Ride 6 and the Omni 12.
The Ride 6 features a big update with PowerGrid technology replacing ProGrid in the midsole, which provides for a smoother transition. Also, the forefoot has been redesigned with deeper flex grooves and more ground contact. If you’re a Ride fan, come by and check it out today!
The Omni 12 also has some major updates to report. The Omni, along with the Ride also has upgraded their midsole to feature the PowerGrid, which creates a better overall ride. The fully decoupled SRS crash pad provides a smoother transition and better support and an all new, redesigned upper incorporates Arch-Lock and Support Frame to keep you supported and feeling good on the road.
Brooks - Next up are updates from Brooks Running. Brooks has updated their neutral line - the Glycerin 11 and the Ghost 6 for the summer. These are big updates and we think you will notice a huge improvement in the feel of the shoe.
The Ghost 6 features a bold move by Brooks, who has removed the mid-foot shank creating full ground contact. The underfoot gets the Caterpillar Crash Pad for the whole shoe length - from heel to lateral sides - which articulates lay-down so you feel more connected to the road with a bonus bouncy ride. Their innovative 3D Fit Print reduces weight making the Ghost 6 a bit lighter than its predecessor. The mesh and linings help to keep the foot cool and dry for your hot summer runs.
The Glycerin 11, everyone's favorite high cushion neutral shoe has that smooth ride Glycerin fans have come to know and love while the upper has been redesigned to be both supportive and lightweight. Like the Ghost 6, Brooks has removed the mid-foot shank to improve transition through foot-strike and you will find that there is more flexibility in the 11 making your feet Run Happy!
Now that race season is in full swing, check out the wear on your shoes and if it’s time to update, or you just want to check out the new technologies, drop by the store today and check out the updates!
