On June 7, We Run Together.

Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us on June 7th to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line.   We encourage you to bring your family, friends, and neighbors. 

We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks.  What you can expect:

• It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?
• Finisher medals. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal (see image below).
• Proceeds benefit the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club to support their trail building and maintenance project at Concord Park. More trails = more beautiful places to run and bike in Knoxville!

• 5K Fun Run - Wed 6/7 at 6:30 am
• 5K Timed Run - Wed 6/7 at 7:00 pm

Location: The Cove, 11808 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN  37922

Course Description: The course starts at the Cove and runs out and back on the greenway.  We will run past  the bridge and the new section under Northshore Dr to a turnaround point.

Local Social Engagement Prizes

For all registered runners from both fun run 5K and timed 5K that engage us on Social Media, the following prizes are offered split between the two events based on the level of participation in each event.  We thank Brooks for sponsoring our Big Run 5K training program in 2023.

In order for a runner’s Instagram post to be considered for local prizes, it must include the hashtag #brooks, #FleetFeetKnox in addition to the national hashtag #TheBigRun.  It must also come from a public Instagram account.  Follow us on Instagram.

NATIONAL PRIZES

At the National level, 18 timed-based prizes as well as four social engagement prizes are offered.  In order for a runner’s Instagram post to be considered, it must use the hashtag #TheBigRun and it must come from a public Instagram account.  

National Leaderboard - Consistent with previous years, a national Fleet Feet leaderboard will be created based on the times from all 5K events.   Winners are randomly selected from these time-based categories to each receive a $500 Fleet Feet gift certificate.  

• 2 winners - 14:59.99 and below
• 3 winners - 15:00.00 - 19:59:99
• 5 winners - 20:00.00 - 29:59.99
• 8 winners - 30:00.00 and above
   

Social Engagement

In addition to National Leaderboard prizes, special prizes are offered for participants who engaging on social media (see rules) in the following categories:

• Start Line Selfie - Celebrating the journey (and challenge) of making it to the start line, the best selfie and story wins
• First-Time Finisher - Based on the honor system, the best finish line photo to a first-time 5K finisher wins
• Parent Power -  The best photo-displaying parent strength wins a Thule stroller
• Support Squad - The best group shot will win one Ragnar team entry
