Andy Goes to Washington

Fleet Feet Employee, Andy Knapp, recently won a trip to Seattle, Washington courtesy of Brooks Footwear! Read what he has to say about his experience:

I recently had the opportunity to take a trip to Seattle for the Brooks PR Invitational at the University of Washington. I won the trip through a Brooks shoe contest held across all Fleet Feet locations in the U.S. The trip was all expenses paid for me and a guest for four days and three nights to Seattle. My sister, Megan, was my guest. The Brooks PR Invite is an indoor track meet held for elite high school athletes designed to compete against the best athletes in the nation and to showcase their talent. Athletes from all over the country were flown in to compete in the meet. Click here to read more.

Though the meet was only one day, we had the opportunity to explore Seattle. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt hotel in downtown and were within a mile walk of all the fun attractions. We explored downtown Saturday afternoon, checked out all the shops and made our way down to Pike Place and down to the waterfront. Saturday night we went out for dinner and then went bowling with Brooks and the other guests they had invited to the meet. Following dinner, my sister and I made a trip out to the Space Needle. The view of the city at night was absolutely incredible. Sunday we did more exploring in the city and made a visit to the original Starbucks in Pike Place Market. Sunday afternoon we went to the meet and saw some incredible performances on the track and got some free gear, which is always nice. Following the meet we had dinner at the Columbia Tower Club. Columbia Tower is 75 stories tall and we made our way to the 75th floor in under a minute on the elevator. It was an unbelievable view from the highest point in the city, standing 230 feet higher than the Space Needle.

Thank you Brooks for sending Andy on an incredible trip!
