If you didn't get registered in time this year, come run with us next Spring! Our 5k Fast program will return April 2025 for another training period for the Watermelon Classic 5k. Be sure to check back in February for updates.
Gotta go fast! Whether you walk, jog, or run, speed training is an intensive workout designed to bust your butt and crush your 5K time. Doesn't matter how fast you are, if you want to improve, come join us!
Any coach will tell you that incorporating speed training into your workout is a beneficial way to improve fitness and teach your legs to turn over more quickly. This program goes over several different interval workouts all the while mixing up the weekly running mileage. Whether you currently run a pace like a 7-minute mile, 10-minute mile, or 13-minute mile, speed training will make you stronger and faster. This 10 -week training program meets once a week with group sessions ranging from 1 to 3 miles that focus on form drills, dynamic warm-ups, various speed workouts, and having fun! It all happens on a track, so no getting lost in a crowd or figuring out where to go! Whatever your current starting point is, speed training will help you develop a quicker pace, stronger cadence, and prepare you for a great finish!
