This 12-week training program is for the beginning trail runner; designed to introduce you to running on trails, while also learning the fun in getting dirty. Group runs are held on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. Saturday runs will be held at local trails determined by Coach Paul. Areas that you'll be running include the Yockanookany trail off the Trace, Lefleur's Bluff, and Butt's Park. Each participant will receive a training plan to guide them through the 12-week program. While the training group and goal race are designed for beginning trail runners, they should have some running or hiking background before joining.
Every other Wednesday, prior to the group run, we will have a mini-clinic covering aspects of trail running. Topics to include: trail etiquette and safety, nutrition and hydration, pacing (run/walk), trail shoes, injuries and prevention.
