Then this is your chance to be the heartbeat of our training program!

As a Fleet Feet Hattiesburg Mentor, you’re more than just a runner — you’re a motivator, a cheerleader, a coach, and sometimes… the reason someone believes they can do this. Your pace sets the tone, but your energy sets the vibe.  We are currently looking for run and run/walk mentors for our upcoming half marathon and 5 k training groups.

Mentor Requirements

We’re looking for someone who:
✅ Has completed at least 1 race at your desired distance
✅ Can attend most group training runs (we aim for 100% attendance, but life happens — a few absences are okay)
✅ Understands that training is about the participant, not your own PR
✅ Has a strong desire to encourage, support, and lift others up
✅ Can maintain a consistent pace and/or intervals
✅ Is personable, approachable, and willing to bring the fun energy to the group
✅ Knows and loves Fleet Feet Hattiesburg (bonus if you’ve shopped or trained with us before!)
✅ Is willing to share advice, wisdom, and personal experience with others
✅ Will help spread the word about Fleet Feet news and events (yes, social media love counts!)
✅ Can arrive early, assist the coach, study routes, and help promote safety first
