Training for a big race takes more than logging miles. It takes a smart plan, the right support and people who know how to help you run steady through the tough weeks and the good ones too. That’s what you’ll find in Fleet Feet’s Half Marathon Training Program in partnership with ASICS.
With supported workouts each week and running coaches who bring real expertise to every step, you’ll have what you need to train with purpose and finish with confidence.
About this Half Marathon Program
Start Date: July 18, 2026
Program Schedule: Meets Saturdays at 7:30am for 13 Weeks
Location: Fleet Feet Hartford (unless a field trip or course preview day)
Goal Race: Eversource Hartford Half Marathon on Saturday, October 10, 2026
Registration: Opens Sunday, May 10, 2026
Program Cost: $150 for program only or $ TBD for bundle (plus RunSignUp fees).
Coaching: Train with certified running coaches who will guide you through a proven plan designed to inspire, motivate, and build confidence. Because great training is holistic, we’ll cover more than just miles: proper running form, hydration, nutrition, strength training, cross‑training, and speed work all play a role in your success.
Program Perks: Technical t-shirt, discounts on shoes, apparel, accessories and nutrition at Fleet Feet, weekly emails, a private Facebook group and a supportive crew of running friends to train with!
Prerequisites: The program is open to first-time and repeat half marathoners who have been running fairly consistently, as the program mileage increases quickly.
We’ll kick the program off with a get-to-know you session at Fleet Feet Hartford followed by a 5-mile run. Our second practice will feature a 10k timed trial, which will be used to calculate your training paces during the program. Later in the program we may take a field trip to a local rails-to-trails (Farmington or Vernon) for our longer runs...and celebrate post-run with a picnic!
**You must be able to run 6 miles at a 12 minute per mile pace by the second practice (which will be a 10k time-trial). If you cannot run this pace, you may continue to participate in the program, but you will need to be self-supported as our last coach-supported pace group will be ~12:00/mile pace utilizing run/walk intervals.**
