Half Marathon Training - Begins July 27

LET'S GO!! 

You know that goal you set to run a half marathon this year? It’s time to make it a reality! Training for the Eversource Hartford Half Marathon begins on July 27.

This summer/fall, we are offering two training program options: traditional and not-so-traditional. Both are 12-week programs combine proven training plans with great coaching and camaraderie. Check them out and see which one sparks your soul (sole?)

Half Marathon Training Program

TRADITIONAL HALF MARATHON TRAINING

If you are looking for a running-focused program that offers company and coaching during the long runs, our traditional training program is perfect for you. This program recommends 4-5 days of running and one day of cross-training (on your own).

Led by the energetic Coach Claudia and a great team of assistant coaches and mentors, your Saturday long runs will be fully supported with planned routes, water stops and coaching-on-the-run to help make the miles fly. Mid-week coach check-ins will keep you motivated to do your weekday homework runs and provide tips and inspiration.

CROSS-FIT HALF MARATHON TRAINING

CrossFit Half MarathonIf you are ready to try a training plan that is a bit out of the ordinary (but a whole lot extraordinary), read on.

Coach Doyle is the head coach and co-owner of CrossFit Hartford. His training methodology is the magic behind the success of this program that consists of 3 days of structured cross-training to build endurance, strength, power and mental fortitude and just 2 days of running (much of your cross-training is done on Concept 2 rowers and Assault bikes). Prepare to PR!

This program is limited to just 12 participants so Coach Doyle can provide you with individualized coaching and attention. Your run days coincide with Fleet Feet's free runs on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings so while they aren't coached, you will have people to run with and routes to follow.
