YOGA for RUNNERS
ON HIATUS DUE TO COVID-19
Yoga is back at Fleet Feet! Former staffer and certified yoga instructor, Melody Smith, will be teaching a weekly class at the store on Tuesday evenings at 7:15pm. The classes are designed for runners and walkers and will provide you the opportunity to stretch the body, connect to the breath, and calm the mind - three areas that will help to improve running performance. No yoga experience necessary!
Growing up in Ellington CT, Melody had always led a very active lifestyle, with running, biking, and swimming as her favorite ways to stay fit. She was introduced to yoga in college and completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training a few years later in January 2017 through Frog Lotus Yoga in the beautiful countryside of Andalusia, Spain.
As an avid runner, she has experienced first-hand the benefits that yoga has had on her training. Yoga is the perfect compliment to running, as it relieves sore muscles, improves flexibility, builds muscular strength, and restores range of motion. All the while reducing mental stress and increasing focus.
When: Tuesdays @7:15pm (50 min of yoga)
