Posterior Knee Pain is pain located behind the knee. Pain may result from several different overuse conditions including:
- Bakers Cyst (or popliteal cyst): a buildup of synovial fluid (fluid that lubricates the joint and reduces cartilage friction)
- Hamstring/Tendon Injury: Tear a lower Hamstring Tendon (can be the Biceps Femoris, Semi-membranosus, or Semi-tendinosus)
- Popliteal Tendinitus: Tearing or inflammation to the Popliteal Tendon in the back of the knee.
